Simac Broadcast Preferred Party for SKY Italia Relocation Project
Milan , October 2007 - Netherlands-based and world-wide operating System Integrator and Solution Provider Simac Broadcast B.V. has been selected by SKY Italia to provide consultancy services in the context of their headquarters’ relocation to their new site in Milano Santa Giulia, Italy.
Simac Broadcast’s services mainly relate to the ‘Technology Compression and Transmission’ area for the new site’s proper requirements and architectural design.
Cooperation with Technology Team
In active collaboration with the SKY Italia Technology Team, Simac Broadcast contributes its know-how to the project program, including the overall compression and multiplexing architecture concept and technical solution selection. As an example, Simac Broadcast and the Sky Italia Technology Team have designed the new system architecture to provide SKY Italia with future-proof Digital Compression and Distribution for Audio and Video services.
Further Reinforcement of Long-Lasting Relationship
The relocation project is a growth opportunity for both SKY Italia and Simac Broadcast, and builds on past co-operation. “We have been working successfully with the people of Simac Broadcast for more than 10 years. They have great expertise in the broadcast industry and digital television. Quite important for us is the Simac Broadcast regional office for the Mediterranean area in Milan itself, so that contact lines are really short”, says Massimo Bertolotti, Transmission and Processing Manager of SKY Italia.
Over the years, Simac Broadcast has been involved in several new system extensions, consultancy projects and has established a Service Level Agreement. “This project is crucial and very important for SKY. The fact that we act as part of the SKY project team crowns our long-term relationship,” says Sergio Pirota, Regional Sales Manager Mediterranean of Simac Broadcast B.V. “It proves that our customer takes confidence in that we deliver exactly the services they require.”
