AMSTERDAM (AFN) - TomTom heeft het aantal landen waarvoor 'real time' verkeersdiensten beschikbaar zijn met vier uitgebreid tot 18. Dat meldde het bedrijf maandag.

TomTom voegde Australië, Canada, Polen en Luxemburg toe aan de lijst met landen waar de meest actuele verkeersinformatie beschikbaar is. De informatie kan door overheden worden ingezet om files te bestrijden. Autorijders worden ermee in staat gesteld hun reis beter te plannen.

Licentiemanager Maarten van Gool gaf in een toelichting aan dat de producent van navigatiekastjes het aanbod van de verkeersdiensten internationaal nog verder wil uitbreiden.

Waarschijnlijk brengt dit vrijwel niets op, indien er wel redelijk inkomsten uit kwamen dan zou het wel vermeld worden.

TomTom Buys-out Joint Venture Partner in India
TomTom today announces it has increased its stake in its Indian joint venture from 90% to 100%. TomTom is committed to drive its Indian business and reap the full potential of this growth market. TomTom has renamed the former joint venture to TomTom India Ltd.

"India has a large untapped car navigation market. By owning TomTom India Ltd 100% we have full flexibility to execute our growth strategy." says Jocelyn Vigreux, Managing Director TomTom India. BRUSSEL (AFN) - De Europese Commissie en het Europees Parlement hebben dinsdagavond afspraken gemaakt over nieuwe maatregelen om speculatie op de financiële markten aan te pakken. Het zogeheten naked short selling, waarbij er gegokt wordt op een daling van het aandeel of obligatie zonder dat diegene de obligatie in handen heeft, wordt verboden als het aan de twee onderhandelende partijen ligt.

Ook wisten beide partijen het eens te worden over nieuwe regels voor zogenoemde credit default swaps (CDS). Een CDS is een instrument waarmee beleggers zich kunnen beschermen tegen betalingsverzuim van een lener (bijvoorbeeld een land). De prijs van een CDS drukt uit hoe hoog beleggers het risico schatten dat de lener zijn leningen niet kan aflossen. Volgens de nieuwe maatregelen mogen deze CDS alleen nog worden aangekocht door de eigenaren van de obligaties.

De Europese beurstoezichthouder ESMA kan bepalen wanneer een tijdelijk verbod op short selling wordt ingevoerd bijvoorbeeld bij een zeer grote koersdaling. Ook moeten handelaren bij het innemen van aanzienlijke posities op een daling van een aandeel of obligatie de toezichthouder hiervan op de hoogte stellen.

Als alle partijen formeel ingestemd hebben met deze voorstellen zullen deze vanaf november volgend jaar van kracht gaan.

Geen android app wel een android app wij zal het zeggen , mijn voor gevoel zegt dat de eerst volgende samenwerking voor indash navigatie zal zijn met onze duitse vrienden van OPEL en wel voor de opel junior/allegra deze premium compact zal zijn release vinden in 2013 en is een upscale model wat in dezelfde lijn zit als de fiat 500 en de vw up,opel heeft trouwens te kennen gegeven om in groeimarkten zoals india te gaan investeren wat ook mooi in lijn ligt met de visie van tomtom.( Maar niks is zeker zolang tegendeel niet bewezen is ) gr phantomtom

o.a. Ivm storing mbt HD traffic sinds IOS5.

Marchionne said he was not surprised by Tuesday's downgrade of Fiat's debt rating by Fitch Ratings Inc., the last of the three major agencies to do it.

Marchionne, who is also chief executive of Chrysler Group LLC, in which Fiat holds a majority stake, said parts of the automaker were generating enough cash for the automaker to go ahead with its plans, which include the relaunch of brands like the Chrysler.

Ik wil niet betweterig doen, maar dit heb ik meerdere keren gezegd vooral over de VS, waar de fiat500 gaat lopen www.fiatblog.nl/?p=11088 en Zuid-Amerika, waar Fiat marktleider is in Brazilie. TomTom groeit met hen mee, en dankzij FIAT groeit dan ook HD traffic in de VS. En ik las ook over die fabriek van Fiat in Polen, dat de productie van de populaire Lancia Ypsilon wordt verdubbeld in 2012. www.autoedizione.nl/2011/07/25/produc...
