"When do you estimate I can reach my GAK of 8.65 in one year?"

If there were justice in the world (given the price of Dogecoin this is questionable), I'd say MSI IVD approval in the US and EGFR in China should more than return the share value lost since the US stumble in August of 2019. We should have a lot more visibility on this in the 2nd half of this year.

In the U.S. the MDx sector is currently very out of favor. So no-one can guarantee that it cannot dip further. Fear of inflation appears to be scaring investors out of businesses that are not presently profitable or will not cross the profitability threshold for a few years. Personally, I'd rather be in a MDx stock with a P/S in the mid single digits with a number of catalysts in the next year, rather than some of the NGS darlings like GH that have P/S that are 10X higher.

I'd also rather be in a MDx disruptor that is seeking to provide results cheaper and faster results than the competitors. There is one certainty that I see, this pandemic will add considerable debt to all governments across the globe. I don't think governments and insurers will quit paying for targeted cancer drugs but I'm pretty sure that they will have massive incentive to try to get cheaper MDx results that allow identification of the cancer's driving mechanism. This combined with the increased backlog due to deferred cancer testing during the pandemic should actually help drive Idylla growth in the next year or two.

It is likely that these cost considerations are part of the reason for the recent AZN announcement.

a little color on my previous post. In Sept 2020 Diaceutics released a report of precision medicine,

They tracked the prescribing of Keytruda in lung cancer as an example. They found that the MDx testing accounted for only about 2% of the cost of the pharmaceutical that was prescribed (in this case, $5.3B for Keytruda). According to other Diaceutics reports, there is pressure to reduce costs of diagnostics and to decentralize testing so that results can be available quicker. These trends play into Idylla's strengths. My reasoning in the previous post is that the pandemic has accelerated rather than eliminated or changed these trends toward cheaper and faster MDx. I'd love to see a PR similar to the AZN piece that BMS is going to adopt a similar Idylla placement campaign to support their drugs. This would help confirm that these trends are in place and accelerating to the benefit of BCART.

Sinds januari 2018 hebben enkel traders en shorters geld verdiend aan de notering van Biocartis. Die trend zie ik niet veranderen in de eerstvolgende 2 jaar.

I believe the Covid testing provided BCART a bridge through 2020 and into 2021. but it is unlikely to represent a mainstay product of the future. BCARTs test takes longer, is more expensive and has much lower throughput than many tests on the market. That said, Covid is likely to be endemic in the future in a manner similar to the flu, so having a Covid test that is available as a companion assay that can be run in conjunction with the Septicyte assay makes sense.

Novacyt shows the danger of being too closely associated with Covid MDx. Last November on the day that Pfizer announced that their vaccine was 95% effective and would likely begin rolling out in a month, Novacyt dropped more than 40%. They are raking in money with a dizzying array of variant tests, mass quick TAT tests, combination tests, etc.. I suspect by the end of 2021 they will likely have 100% of their market Cap in cash. So the market places little value on the business itself. It seems that most investors are eager to put Covid in the rear view mirror. Novacyt will likely describe their plan for diversifying away from Covid testing. I'm hoping that Oncology PCR does not become a focus.

Ja, begrijp ik. Voor aandeelhouders die er al heel lang in zitten, is het frustrerend. Ik heb ook wel wat kritische punten bij bepaalde zaken (communicatie, aantal systemen die per jaar geïnstalleerd worden, ...), maar als de lijn van kwartaal één en vorige jaar aangehouden wordt, dan ziet het er binnen 2 à 3 jaar erg goed uit mijn inziens. Daarbij doel ik vooral op schaalvoordelen die dan zullen beginnen positief doorwegen.

Anything new in the presentation? Is there a major take away or two? When I invested abroad I anticipated some language issues. As a whole, I have to commend BCART on the extent to which they make their presentations accessible to English speaking investors. Interviews with local news outlets are to be expected to be a home field advantage for the Dutch speaking investors!

This pattern of trendlessness (up one day then down the next) resulting in treading water is actually encouraging in my mind. Hopefully it holds tomorrow. The US MDx stocks are getting crushed today as they have for the past couple weeks. Almost all except for the industry leaders TMO, ILMN, Tech, are well off of the 52 week highs. The fact that BCART's performance is keeping pace during the last year with the leading portion of the sector could be seen as encouraging. Of course this overlooks the miserable performance the year before, but hey it has to put in a base before it can rally.

Hi Flatlander,

not really anything new for you I guess, just a good overview of their mission and strategy, and their achievements of 2020. Some interesting key topics for me:

- Margin on their tests evolved from 12% in 2019 to 18% in 2020. Goal is to further increase this to 50% and more by expanding the test menu with some high added value tests that can be sold at higher margins, and on the other hand decrease production costs by increasing the volume.
They look for additional partners in infectioous diseases that can also take up the commercialization of these tests
- on the 510k FDA submission: more submissions will follow
- according to him, the current share price is undervalued, and he compares it to 2 other infectious disease diagnostics companies tat had much higher multiples than biocartis and were sold.
- By 2024 they should have been able to show that by menu and geographical expansion they are able to increase sales volume and decrease production cost. This needs to be done to have some financing options when the outstanding convertible bond of €135M needs to be refinanced. However, he hopes for a conversion at 12.89 ;-) into shares.

Mechelen, België, 11 mei 2021 -- Biocartis Group NV (de
'Vennootschap' of 'Biocartis'), een innovatief bedrijf in de moleculaire
diagnostiek (Euronext Brussels: BCART), kondigt vandaag aan dat het een
subsidie van EUR 1,4 miljoen heeft ontvangen van VLAIO, de Vlaamse
organisatie voor Innovatie & Ondernemerschap, voor de verdere
ontwikkeling van een nieuwe generatie technologie die zal worden ingezet
op het gebruiksvriendelijke en volledig geautomatiseerde moleculaire
diagnostiek platform Idylla(TM).

De VLAIO-subsidie is bedoeld ter ondersteuning van de aan gang zijnde
ontwikkeling van een nieuwe Idylla(TM) technologie die off-line maatwerk
van de Idylla(TM) cartridge(1) mogelijk zal maken. De Idylla(TM)
cartridges van de eerste generatie bevatten niet alleen de generieke
componenten voor staalvoorbereiding en biomarkerdetectie, maar ook de
biomarkerspecifieke reagentia. De Idylla(TM) cartridges van de nieuwe
generatie zouden daarentegen alleen de generieke componenten voor
staalvoorbereiding en -detectie bevatten, en zouden biomarkerspecifiek
worden gemaakt door toevoeging door de gebruiker van een gebruiksklare
mix die biomarkerspecifieke reagentia bevat. Deze nieuwe Idylla(TM)
technologie zou volledig compatibel zijn met de huidige Idylla(TM)
cartridgeproductielijnen en installed base, en zal naar verwachting de
ontwikkelingstijd en -kosten van Idylla(TM) assays verder verminderen.

'Molecular surveillance', waarbij elke patiënt herhaaldelijk wordt
opgevolgd met behulp van een moleculaire test, is een snel groeiend
domein en vertegenwoordigt een belangrijke marktopportuniteit in
oncologie. De ontwikkeling van een gebruiksvriendelijke testoplossing
die patiëntspecifieke biomarkers kan opsporen door gebruik te maken
van deze nieuwe generatie Idylla(TM) technologie heeft zo tot doel om
op-maat testing en gepersonaliseerde monitoring te decentraliseren.

Benoit Devogelaere, Chief Technology Officer van Biocartis, gaf volgend
commentaar: "De producten die op deze nieuwe Idylla(TM) technologie
zullen worden gebaseerd, zouden mogelijk kunnen worden gebruikt in het
hele spectrum van molecular surveillance, met inbegrip van monitoring
van respons op de behandeling, 'Molecular Residual Disease(2) ' (MRD) en
monitoring van terugval. De nieuwe technologie zou kunnen worden
gebruikt in het kader van goedgekeurde gerichte therapieën en
immunotherapieën, alsook voor nieuwe celtherapieën,
gepersonaliseerde kankervaccins en neoantigeen-gerichte
immunotherapieën(3) . We zien ook toepassingen op het gebied van
infectieziekten, waar Idylla(TM) tests snel zouden kunnen worden
aangepast voor de detectie en differentiatie van verschillende virussen
en virusstammen, wat belangrijk kan zijn in de strijd tegen pandemische
bedreigingen".

Herman Verrelst, Chief Executive Officer van Biocartis, reageerde: "We
