Reuters: China overweegt voor biljoenen aan extra schulden uit te geven

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) China overweegt volgende week de uitgifte goed te keuren van meer dan 10 biljoen Chinese yuan aan extra schuldpapier, omgerekend zo'n 1,4 biljoen dollar, om zo de kwakkelende economie nieuw leven in te blazen. Dit meldde persbureau Reuters dinsdag op basis van informatie van ingewijden.

Een dergelijk pakket wordt mogelijk verder verhoogd als Donald Trump de Amerikaanse verkiezingen wint, aldus twee bronnen met kennis van zaken.

China's hoogste overheidsorgaan, het Permanent Comité van het Nationale Volkscongres (NPC), is van plan om het nieuwe stimuleringspakket goed te keuren, inclusief 6 biljoen yuan die gedeeltelijk zal worden opgehaald via speciale staatsobligaties, op de laatste dag van een vergadering die van 4 tot 8 november wordt gehouden, schreef Reuters.

De 6 biljoen yuan aan schuld zal worden opgehaald over een periode van drie jaar, met inbegrip van 2024, aldus de bronnen, die eraan toevoegden dat de opbrengsten voornamelijk zullen worden gebruikt om lokale overheden te helpen.

Het geplande totaalbedrag, dat zal worden opgehaald door de uitgifte van zowel staatsobligaties als obligaties van lokale overheden, komt overeen met meer dan 8 procent van het bruto binnenlands product van China, aldus Reuters.
