Amey selects Agresso for West Berkshire Council
Bristol, England - February 13, 2004
Leading support services company Amey has selected Agresso’s web-enabled business information system for implementation at West Berkshire Council in a contract worth £700,000.

The agreement, achieved through Amey’s strategic partnership with the Council, is part of a complete upgrade of all West Berkshire’s core business systems and IT infrastructure by Amey by 2005 to improve services, access to services and efficiency.

The implementation involves the core financials, business analysis and reporting and web requisitioning elements of the AGRESSO Business World system to provide improved and streamlined finance and procurement business processes.

Key drivers in the decision to opt for Agresso over solutions from Radius, GEAC and Northgate were the system’s flexibility, strong reporting capabilities and ability to interface with other core systems to deliver easily accessible, real time, accurate financial management information to council officers, service managers and members, as well as enable end-to-end electronic purchasing.

Graeme Keel, finance systems programme manager for Amey at West Berkshire, said: “We were impressed by Agresso’s knowledge and experience gained from their recent implementations in a wide range of local authorities. Introduction of the new AGRESSO finance and procurement modules will provide managers and staff with on-line access to financial information for monitoring and reporting.”

He added: “On-line purchasing will enable self-service access throughout the Council to streamline the ordering process and reduce the costs for goods and services through web-enabled arrangements with preferred suppliers.”

Agresso has a rapidly growing public sector customer base with 60 local authorities using the system as well as a number of central government bodies, higher and further education institutions and healthcare Trusts.
