Accenture loses $543m contract

NEW YORK (Bloomberg) — Accenture Ltd., the world’s second- biggest consultant, and partners are losing a $543 million contract with Texas to provide computer services for the state’s health and social services programmes.The decision to end the contract early was mutual, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission said on its website yesterday. Accenture expects no “material” impact on its financial performance, Jim McAvoy, a spokesman for Bermuda-based Accenture, said in an interview.

Accenture won the five-year contract in June, 2005 to provide technology and services to make it easier for Texans to apply for social services such as Medicaid and food stamps through the Internet, over the phone and by fax or mail. The contract was originally valued at $899 million and was amended in December, McAvoy said.

Texas and Accenture “have agreed to begin discussions tomorrow to unwind the project,” McAvoy said. The parties were unable to agree on the changes required to implement the “rebalanced” contract from December, he said.

Accenture will continue to provide some services until November, he said.

Maximus Inc., one of Accenture’s partners, will continue providing some services related to the Texas Medicaid and children’s health insurance programs, the Reston, Virginia-based company said.

Ik vraag me af of dit deel uit de update van april 2006 nog relevant is in dit verband:

We continue to support our historic position as a supplier to the healthcare protocol market. Our technology is used by healthcare institutions to provide doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners with procedural guidelines at the point of care. A project to convert the code base for our healthcare solutions to the Accolade platform is scheduled to be completed in 2006, and expansion of our protocol management market activity is on hold until this platform transition has been proven successful. We will then readdress strategies for growing this aspect of our business.

Wat denken jullie: ligt het voor de hand dat Sopheon afstevent op een overname terwijl ze tegelijkertijd druk bezig blijven met vacatures uitzetten/opvullen en maar aan events blijven deelnemen?

Zolang er geen aanvullend nieuws is heeft het niet zoveel zin om telkenmale een bericht,een standpunt of bespiegeling te herhalen, we hopen allemaal dat het eerst volgende bericht een verhoging van de koers tengevolge zal hebben, en of dat door een fusie dan wel overname of alleen de cijfers van 2006 en outlook over 2007 is komt op de tweede plaats.

We zullen gewoon af moeten wachten wat er straks gepresenteerd gaat worden.

Erg positief om te zien dat er serieuze beleggers zijn die anderen de gelegenheid geven hun mening te versterken omtrend de waarde van een aandeel, in dit geval Sopheon.

Wat echter zorgelijk is, is het feit, dat er andere, niet serieuze beleggers zijn die deze positieve grondhouding niet waarderen.

Deze negatieve grondhouding uit zich al geruime tijd in het opzettelijk belemmeren van een koerssprong van een beloftevol aandeel.

Het is te wensen dat dit op korte, zeer korte, termijn eens tot deze beleggers doordringt.

Bertus, ga zo door misschien kun je er nog een paar bekeren.

Een beetje miljomnair kan al meer dan 50 % van de aandelen kopen, alhoewel hij die van mij pas krijgt boven de 1,50 euro.............

Logisch! Als iemand er zoveel geld in stopt mag je aannemen dat h/zij er iets in ziet dat verder niemand kan zien, hooguit over fantaseren.

Dit is m.i. één van de problemen met de koersvorming van Sopheon. Bij grote fondsen waar veel in gehandeld wordt mag je er van uitgaan dat de koers als die te veel uit de pas loopt met de werkelijke waarde, grote en proffessionele partijen wel gaan corrigeren.
Dit is bij Sopheon niet het geval. Het fonds is te klein om er rendabel te veel aandacht aan te besteden, dat geld krijg je er nooit uit. Dat betekent dus dat de koers van Sopheon vrijwel volledig bepaald kan worden door relatieve amateurs op het beleggingsvak. Dat zal voor sommigen wellicht ook de aantrekkelijkheid in zitten om juist in Sopheon te beleggen.
De andere kant van het verhaal is dat Sopheon daarom extra gevoelig is voor manipulatie, pushing en bashing.

Zou dit ook de verklaring zijn dat het Sopheonforum zoveel drukker bezocht wordt als het forum voor KPN, terwijl aan de laatste (desnoods via de optiehandel) toch veel meer te verdienen valt?

Veel meer bezocht soms 4 keer zoveel,komt door 4 aliassen,1 persoon is 4.
En het KPN forum wordt alleen door kpn beleggers bezocht,hier post iedere armoedzaaier en basher,en niet belegger in Sopheon.
