Hemispherx Biopharma (AMEX:HEB): Ampligen (Poly I: Poly C12U) NDA (three month PDUFA decision date delay was announced on 2/18/09 as additional data was submitted by HEB within three months of original decision date). Ampligen is an experimental treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome (which has no FDA-approved treatments) and the drug has an Orphan Drug Status with an original PDUFA decision date of 5/25/09. On 5/26/09, HEB announced that the FDA advised the Company that it may require up to 1-2 additional weeks to take action on the Ampligen NDA. What would be possible reasons of FDA delay in approving Ampligen??

This is my view of Ampligen regarding probability of Approval.
1-Approval of Ampligen may have significant impact in the way proper
medical management of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is done in the US and
possibly Worldwide. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as a disease is still
very confusing for the medical community...there has not been a clear
guidance how this syndrome should be diagnosed and even treated....
2-The approval of Ampligen is a very complicated issue for FDA.
Since the course of treatment is very costly. The specific indication
has to establish clearly the length of initial treatment. This is not
so usual for medications in general. The specification in length of
treatment time intermix with the treatment recommendation
guidelines..So now it is not a issue of approving a medication but
maybe changing the treatment recommendations of Chronic fatigue
syndrome through the Ampligen implementation. And I see this as a
very difficulty issue
3-The need to update and to validate the latest molecular information
regarding the chronic fatigue syndrome. In order to FDA to approve
they also need to match the medication efficacy and mechanism of
action with the way the disease occurs pathologically..which was
little understood till recently but still not clear yet.

What I see is this..there is on going review not about Ampligen's long
standing safety issue or the statistical validity of their clinical
trial...It is more about the FDA committee reviewing the current known
definitions of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and also probably
recommendation on proper diagnosis before initiating treatment using
the latest information. So the problem is in the end of Chronic
fatigue syndrome..the current definition..updating the molecular data
and also national advisory recommendations... And, finally make a
reasonable decision if there is a place for Ampligen now in this
current leve of understanding of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome...

At the end it is not the Ampligen's problem..it is really issue of
medical policy on treatment.

Blijf het raar vinden. Ik zie overal biodiesel contracten worden afgesloten voor miljoenen en GERS stopt de productie tijdelijk. Ik weet op het moment niet wat ik moet denken, maar ik heb geduld, want dit wordt mijn goudmijn, en dat zet ik greenshift met 500k op €5. Wellicht over 3 jaar ofzo?! :)

Contracten worden wel afgesloten, maar inmiddels puilen de tanks uit met biodiesel en raken ze het aan de straatstenen niet kwijt...........van USA via Canada varen de bootjes af en aan naar Europa..........
Momenteel liggen de meeste Plants in de Botlek stil.....!!!!!!!!

Via ING kun je in USA alleen beleggen op de NYSE en Nasdaq.

via ing is het niet mogelijk, iemand suggestie waar ik deze aandelen het beste kan aankopen?
is bijvoorbeeld mij zelf aanmelden bij Binck een goed idee?

Ik ben bang dat het dan wel zo lang gaat duren dat u dan naast het net vist.. Bij Binck is een optie en de Rabo ook. Binck lijkt me handiger, daar hoeft u alleen een beleggingsrekening te openen en dat gaat volgens mij wat sneller dan bij de Rabo (moet tevens een spaarrekening aan gekoppeld worden).
Maar zou Binck eens proberen, sowieso altijd handig om een beleggingsrekening ernaast te kunnen gebruiken, in geval van storingen bij de één of het ontbreken van fondsen bij de ander.

Bij elke transactie wordt er omgerekend middels de dan geldende valutakoers. Lijkt me tenminste dat het bij Binck niet anders gaat dan bij andere brokers.
