Chalco swings to $17.7 million quarterly loss
HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. (SHANGHAI:CN:601600) (NYSE:ACH) (THE:HK:2600) reported a third quarter net loss of 117.8 million yuan ($17.69 million), reversing from a 21.3 million yuan profit a year earlier, as a supply glut and higher prices pressured margins, according to reports. The company, known as Chalco, and ranking as China's biggest alumina producer by output, said revenue for the July to September period totaled 28.8 billion yuan, a rise of 68.6% from the 17.1 billion yuan a year earlier
