In 1979, Getma Guinea was the first private logistics company to be set up in Guinea.
GETMA Guinea today handles 30% of all cargo through the Port of Conakry.
GETMA Guinea is a subsidiary of the AMA Overseas group, with a presence in nine other West African
countries, covering all stevedoring and port agency services GETMA Guinea was created in 1979 in partnership
with the national Guinean shipping line SNGand played an essential role in the privatization of the port of Conakry.
Getma Guinea also actively participated in the creation of AGEMAP (Stevedores Association)
and BMOP, which employs approximately 1 000 dockers.
With a capital of 1 billion Guinean francs, 240 employees and 242 ship calls,GETMA Guinea reached
a turnover of 12 billion Guinean francs in 2002. s
The company handled 14 000 TEU, 95 000 tons of general cargo and 12 000 vehicles.
It has a fleet of 24 cargo handling machines (PPM Terex 45 tons, Hyster 44 tons,
Grove 60 tons, forklifts from 2 to 25 tons and Mafis), a 12 000 m2 platform and 5 000 m2 stores holds.
GETMA Guinea offers a complete logistics service to its customers,
particularly to the mining, industrial and public works sectors.With offices at Conakry airport, in Kamsar,
and its customs clearing subsidary,MLT Express, in partnership with
the principal haulier, Felici Mariano, Getma Guinea’s service covers the whole of the country.
