BAM Construction will start work this month on a major leisure scheme on Bridlington’s seafront, after it was approved by planners at East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The Leisure World facility will include a six-lane, 25m swimming pool, a smaller learner pool, a freeform pool with water features, two water slides and swimming spectator seating for 150.
There will be a 70-station fitness studio and health spa.
Sports fans will benefit from a six-court sports hall, two squash courts and a feature climbing wall. The building will also include a café with access for both centre users and non-users.
John Phillips, construction director for BAM Construction, said: “We’ll bring a local team to this project together with our reputation for quality and our considerate approach.
“It’s our second major leisure project in the region, with Huddersfield Sports Centre under construction and three projects in Hull.”
