Onderschat het RSV onderzoek niet bij Ablynx.
Bovendien is Ablynx een bedrijf die zomaar ineens opgekocht kan worden.

Moderna komt op mij over als de concurrent van ProQR uit Leiden, het bedrijf dat is opgericht door mensen die ook betrokken waren bij de oprichting van Galapagos. Oud-Crucell netwerk.

Een plus een is twee? Gezien de race om de CF-patient is de kans reëel dat Galapagos eenzelfde soort samenwerking aangaat met ProQR?

Subsidie voor HIT CF onderzoek werking nieuwe medicijnen

Professor Ineke Braakman (Universiteit Utrecht) onderzoekt hoe nieuwe medicijnen voor de behandeling van Cystic Fibrosis werken. Zij ontvangt voor dit onderzoek financiering uit het Innovatiefonds Chemie voor samenwerking met private partners.

Het Utrechts laboratorium van Professor Braakman, Biotechbedrijf Galapagos en de Nederlandse Cystic Fibrosis Stichting werken in dit project, dat onderdeel is van HIT CF, samen.

Onderzoek

Professor Ineke Braakman onderzoekt de precieze productie en werking van het CFTR-eiwit en kijkt hoe nieuwe medicijnen, in dit project die van Galapagos, daarop het beste kunnen werken. Dit helpt uiteindelijk om mensen met CF de beste combinatie van medicijnen te geven.

Financiering

De NCFS draagt 20.000 euro bij, Galapagos 55.000 euro en NWO-chemie vult dit aan tot 300.000 euro. Het geld voor de NCFS wordt geworven door acties van Muco & Friends.

Defect eiwit bij Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis (Taaislijmziekte, CF) is een ongeneeslijke, erfelijke ziekte waarin een defect eiwit (CFTR genaamd) aangemaakt wordt. Bij patiënten met CF is hierdoor in veel organen het zout-watertransport verstoord, waardoor taai slijm ontstaat. Galapagos ontwikkelt nieuwe geneesmiddelen die de fout in het CFTR- eiwit aanpakken; vermoedelijk zal een combinatie van 3 medicijnen nodig zijn om deze fout voldoende te herstellen. Bij veel patiënten met CF is nog niet bekend wat precies het probleem is in het eiwit en tot welke mate van ziekteverschijnselen dit leidt.

Op wikipedia staat dat Ruxolitinib (Jakafi) is goedgekeurd voor RA, dit klopt toch niet?

Denk ik blaas misschien wat leven in de inhoudelijke discussie.. Nee asti om die en die reden is die inhibitor niet geschikt voor RA etc.

Er is inhoudelijk gewoon niet zo veel te melden momenteel denk ik. Stilte voor de spreekwoordelijke storm zullen we maar zeggen. Komt vanzelf weer als de resultaten later dit jaar binnen komen.

Neen, Asti, dat klopt uiteraard niet. Jakafi is wel een JAK-inhibitor maar is niet ontwikkeld tegen reuma. Ze vergissen zich misschien met baricitinib, een andere JAK-inhibitor die wel tegen reuma is ontwikkeld.
Beide producten werden ontwikkeld door hetzelfde bedrijf: Incyte. Vandaar misschien de vergissing?

Fase 1 GS-4059 RA recruit niet meer. Patiënten geworven.
Fase 1 scores van de BTK-inhibitor begin Q4 2016.
om daarna, bij succes, door te stoten naar Fase 2a.

Mochten beide succesvol worden, is de weg vrij voor combinatie-onderzoek.

AbbVie gaat ook voor combi JAK1/BTK.
Daarbij ligt Gilead waarschijnlijk voor gezien dit al lopende Fase 1 onderzoek.

De Syk-inhibitor Fase 1 loopt al langer dunkt mij.

Ook die combi met Filgotinib kan nog, doch weinig bekend over vorderingen

I have been away from the forum for a little while so mabe this has already been explained before.
In any case could someone explain to me the % of shares held by FMR?

It is showing as owning 6% of Galapagos

However from their last holding on 31/03/2016 they own 4,583,704 shares

I guess the difference in numbers can be explained by the custody services of Fidelity. To be more precise: Fidelity Investments has a division, Fidelity Institutional, that provides clearing, custody and investment management products to registered investment advisors (RIAs), broker-dealers, family offices, retirement recordkeepers and banks. My two cents.

Hum, not too sure about that. If they hold the shares for a third party as you explain that would come under FMR nominees and not under its own name.

Still, no worries. It's one of those things you mull about as you are waiting for further real news.

Yes, it is about 10%. If it reaches 10% or above, filing a new transparency notification is required.

The major shareholders overview on the Galapagos-website is based on transparency notifications.

The latest from FMR was filed on 19/05/2015 [1] and reports 2,732,508 shares. With the updated number of shares this is about 6%.
