interessante gedachte!
I think NOK should not part with HERE, they should allow others in the biz, make it a venture, a participation.
The whole auto industry is developing rapidly, we are at the eve of a complete overhaul for the meaning of transport for that you need maps and good ones , real time, this is the goose with the golden eggs they are selling, how shortsighted is that ?, they overpaid big time when they acquired it, now that the industry is getting all excited for what is to come, there are would wide only 3 players in the game, Google ( not for sale ) TT and Here.
they should opt for the German consortium, become a captive account to BMW, Merc and Audi, at the same time they will enforce Big High Tech ( Apple, MSFT, FB or maybe even Uber to make a move for TomTom and it's 2 x bingo TT gets sold at a fat premium, all long holders in TT happy ,including MOI and Here has the whole of the car Industry world wide for the taking, because none of the Car industries wants to be depended on any High Tech company for self-driving and that's the future, that's where the Big money is to be made the coming decade.
NOK better has some serious thinking to do, before letting this go and start competing head on with Ericsson and the Chinese, it will be a dismal biz for earnings, even if they can compete., this whole merger with ALU is not out of strength, it is to survive and than you have HERE where you can lock in the whole car industry.
