Construction giant BAM has won two contracts totalling more than 110€m for developing a hospital in Germany, and an academic centre in the UK.
The first contract worth €88m (88€m) has been awarded to BAM Deutschland, which is the German operating company under the Royal BAM Group, for partial redevelopment of the municipality hospital Stuttgart, Germany.
Assigned by the Stuttgart city administration, the construction firm will be developing a new main building (Building F) and a connecting hall for the hospital.
Designed by Arcass Planungsgesellschaft, the project will expand the centre by adding a total gross floor area of 41,000m².
Work for the project is expected to start from 2016 and has been scheduled for a 2018 completion.
Two existing buildings at the hospital will need to be demolished for construction of the new building.

BAM said: "Constructed transversally above this there are two building components of three floors each that house the nursing wards.
"The radiotherapy department's radiation bunkers are located on one of the three basement floors."
The second contract worth 22€m (22€m) has been awarded to BAM Construct UK for constructing the new Isaac Newton building for the University of Lincoln, at its Brayford Pool campus.
The new academic centre will have a floor area of 7,500m² and feature 'a range of state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research'.
Plans for the centre also include construction of a 500-seat lecture theatre, a social atrium space, including a canteen and general teaching facilities.
BAM will also be responsible for developing specialist facilities for the centre, which will include rooms lined with conductive fabric to create a Faraday cage, and a sound deadening semi-anechoic chamber.
