(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Equinor heeft een belang van 9,8 procent genomen in het Deense windmolenbedrijf Ørsted. Dat maakte het Noorse energiebedrijf maandag bekend.

Equinor wordt daarmee de grootste aandeelhouder na de Deense staat, die een controlerend belang heeft.

De aankoop van 41,2 miljoen aandelen Ørsted kostte Equinor circa 2,5 miljard dollar.

"Dit is een contracyclische investering in een leidende ontwikkelaar en een hoogwaardige portefeuille van operationele offshore wind-activiteiten", aldus CEO Anders Opedal van Equinor.

Het bedrijf is niet uit op een zetel in het bestuur en steunt de strategie en het management van het Deense bedrijf. Er zijn geen plannen om het belang verder te vergroten, volgens Equinor.

Ørsted sells 12.45% of 3.5-GW UK offshore wind portfolio to Brookfield

Danish clean energy company Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) is selling a 12.45% stake in four operational UK offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of 3.5 GW to Brookfield Asset Management Ltd (TSE:BAM).

Ørsted will keep a 37.55% interest in the wind farms -- Hornsea 1, Hornsea 2, Walney Extension and Burbo Bank Extension, which are all under long-term inflation-linked contracts for difference (CfDs).

Ørsted ups lower end of EBITDA guidance, returns to nine-month profit

Offshore and onshore renewables developer Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) on Tuesday nudged up the lower end of its full-year EBITDA guidance after reporting “solid” earnings in the first nine months of the year.

The Danish green energy company now expects annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), excluding earnings from new partnerships and impact from cancellation fees, to be in the range of DKK 24 billion (USD 3.5bn/EUR 3.2bn) to DKK 26 billion, compared to DKK 23 billion-26 billion previously.

Ørsted, FuturEnergy Ireland obtain permit for 112-MW wind farm

Denmark's Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) and FuturEnergy Ireland have secured planning permission for the 112-MW Ballinagree wind farm in County Cork, Ireland.

The project, situated between Millstreet and Macroom, will feature 16 wind turbines up to 185 metres (607 ft) tall and is expected to power about 73,000 homes annually. It is a 50:50 joint venture between the Danish clean energy group and FuturEnergy Ireland, a joint venture of Irish utility ESB and forestry company Coillte.

Subject to grid connection and final investment approval, the wind farm could be online by 2030, contributing to Ireland’s target of generating 80% of electricity from renewables by the end of the decade.

Ørsted to supply 167 GWh green power to Germany's Wunsiedel region

Danish clean energy company Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) has agreed to supply a total of 167 GWh of green electricity to the Wunsiedel region in eastern Germany, contributing to the local energy transition.

The company said on Wednesday that its German subsidiary Orsted Onshore Deutschland GmbH has entered into a ten-year power purchase agreement with local municipal utility SWW Wunsiedel GmbH.

The electricity will be supplied from two local solar parks – Amberg Sued and Altenschwand, which have a combined capacity of 15.1 MWp. The power to be delivered over the ten-year period is sufficient to meet the needs of about 5,600 households annually. The electricity will be made available to local households and businesses. As agreed, the supply will start from January 1, 2025.

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Het Deense energiebedrijf Ørsted meldde maandagavond een stevige afschrijving op de Amerikaanse activiteiten.

Ørsted gaat 12,1 miljard Deense kroon, ofwel ruim 1,6 miljard euro, afschrijven. Dit is volgens het concern onder meer het gevolg van de stijging van de lange rente in de VS, waardoor de kosten voor financieringen stijgen, en een vertraging bij de ingebruikname van het Sunrise Windpark. Ook deed Ørsted een afschrijving op zijn leases voor de kust van New Jersey, Maryland en Delaware.

Ørsted rekent op een EBITDA in 2024 van 24,8 miljard kroon, in lijn met de laatst afgegeven outlook, aldus het concern.

Flinke afwaardering Ørsted raakt Fugro
Een opvallende uitschieter naar beneden was Fugro. Dat heeft waarschijnlijk te maken met het Deense energiebedrijf Ørsted, dat een flinke afwaardering van ruim €1,6 miljard moest doen op de Amerikaanse activiteiten. Ørsted wijst onder meer op de opgelopen lange rente in de VS, waardoor de financiering van projecten flink duurder wordt, en vertraging bij de ingebruikname van het Sunrise Windpark. Ook deed Ørsted een afschrijving op zijn leases voor de kust van New Jersey, Maryland en Delaware. Fugro doet diverse projecten met de Denen.

Polish utility PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WSE:PGE) and Denmark’s Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) have taken a final investment decision on their 1.5-GW Baltica 2 offshore wind project in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea.

The project has all permits in place and has signed a grid connection contract with the Polish transmission system operator PSE. Ørsted said on Wednesday that major component and vessel contracts have been executed and the wind farm is due to become fully operational by the end of 2027.

To be located around 40 km off Poland’s northern coast near Ustka, Baltica 2 will use 14-MW Siemens Gamesa wind turbines that will form part of the 2.5-GW Baltica Offshore Wind Farm complex.

Amsterdam - Mads Nipper, topman van de grote Deense producten van windmolens Ørsted, wordt direct vervangen na een serie zware financiële tegenvallers.

Dat meldt het bedrijf vrijdag. Nipper gold jarenlang als voorloper in de verduurzaming nadat regeringen hun handtekening onder het Klimaatakkoord van Parijs hadden gezet.

Ørsted trims 2030 investment plan by 25% amid US offshore wind woes

Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) said on Wednesday it plans to slash its investment plan for the years through 2030 by around 25% to address challenges related to its US offshore wind portfolio and the wider renewables industry.

The adjustment is being made regardless of the company's reporting of full-year 2024 results that align with its expectations. With this step, the energy major aims to strengthen its capital structure and prioritise “the most value-accretive growth opportunities” through a self-funded investment programme.

Ørsted intends to invest between DKK 210 billion (USD 29.25bn/EUR 28.15bn) and DKK 230 billion in the 2024-2030 period, down from a previous target of DKK 270 billion, expecting a return on capital employed (ROCE) of around 13% on average.
