Amsterdam, March 3 (Reuters) - Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASM International swung to a fourth-quarter net profit on rising demand for smartchips used in high-tech gadgets and mobile devices.
ASMI reported a 25 million euro net profit compared with an 11.7 million euros loss a year ago and a 34.3 million euro profit in the third quarter in 2010, below the average estimate of 48.9 million euros from a Reuters poll.
