www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/news... The Westfield San Francisco Centre and neighboring hotels and restaurants are turning the L-shaped alley on Jessie Street into a summer-long venue for dining, arts and music
to capitalize on foot traffic and a fully reopened San Francisco.Molly Unger, vice president of shopping center management for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said the mall was especially impacted by the absence of international travelers and thinned out BART and public transit service to downtown.
Unger said that while foot traffic at the mall has been lower last year and this year than before the pandemic,
sales conversions have tracked more favorably and in April and May this year were on par with 2019.Last year vacancy was between 5 and 10 points higher than usual, she said, but it's come roaring back in recent months. New businesses at the mall in line for their first fully open summer include Shake Shack, Savion's Sweets, COEUR415 hip-hop apparel and accessories, Pink Pink Tea Shoppe, IWC Schaffhausen luxury watches and Rooftop Dining Terrace.
